When I had my oldest son I remembered my milk supply didn’t come through straight away due to having a caesarean and once again I had to go again under the same medical procedure. I knew I needed to persevere to ensure I was able to provide breastmilk to Dylan. At the birthing centre I had all support from the midwives and my husband who was alongside me for the 4 endless days and night until Dylan could finally feed. He would suck all day long and would get only a few drops of colostrum on the first days after his birth. However, I was determined I was going to breastfeed my baby. I could never anticipate I would be still breastfeeding him now and I am so proud of it. He is nearly 2. He has great health and is a very energetic toddler. It has been an amazing journey and to be able to provide him with all the physiological and emotional benefits from breastfeeding is just a blessing.
